Great piece, Rob. As I read it, I got to a place where I think that the Democratic Socialists are the only ones that are trying to live up to creating an America that the founding fathers envisioned.
Certainly the Republicans, despite espousing that they are Reagan accolites, are so out of touch with "the right side of history" their main man is rolling over in his grave. All of their efforts at this point are focused singularly on staying in power to wage their war, not their constituents.
And the context of Clinton's rightward shift was helpful, but upon reflection obvious.
The media, both mainstream and the alternative outlets should be focused on explaining this shift in plain English along with beating the corruption drum constantly, because it's everywhere and it's been eating at this country's soul long before Trump.
We have simply gotten to the point where that corruption has done enough damage to average American that even a moron like Trump could capitalize on it!
